Pottstown Claims League Title with Dominant Performance
PERKIOMEN VALLEY, PA – Pottstown High School delivered a commanding performance at this year’s league championship, securing the team title with 115 points behind standout efforts in both sprints and relays.
Keno Shawell was a key contributor, winning the 200m (22.8) and anchoring Pottstown’s victorious 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams. Teammate Aaron Beasley dominated the 800m (2:02.3) and placed in multiple events, while Kevin Ford showcased his versatility with a win in the 300m hurdles (39.5).
In the field events, Greg Faulkner (Spring-Ford) set a meet record in the shot put (53’6”), while Jim Ford-Bey (Great Valley) shattered the triple jump record (42’11”). Grant Berges (Great Valley) tied the high jump meet record at 6’4”.
Owen J. Roberts’ Justin Poley was unstoppable in distance events, winning both the 1600m (4:27.5) and 3200m (9:48.1), while Justin Wysock (Pottsgrove) set a new meet record in the pole vault (12’9”).
With strong performances across the board, Pottstown edged out Great Valley (77.5) and Lansdale Catholic (74) to claim the championship title.
